My name is Josh Lewis and I am the new youth pastor at Firewheel Bible Fellowship.
I have had the blessing of serving in youth ministry for almost 8 years. Following seminary, at Northwest Theology I committed my life to lead students to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
We do this through sound biblical teaching, wise and protective leadership, and an engaging atmosphere that is both fun and supportive, welcoming all students and holding them accountable spiritually in the hope to help them reach their full potential.
Currently, we have two weekly events:
ENGAGE Live, our main Wednesday night service at 7:00pm. The teaching is topical and the target is not only current students but also future students, with outreach playing a huge factor in our activities. Currently, we are in a series focusing on Prayer, but starting in August we will begin the series SACRED, focusing on qualities in scripture that are foundational to our faith. The first week we will look at Honor (honoring our parents, those in authority and leaders, etc), the second week will be on Integrity and the third will be on Purity. I am so excited about this series as it is a careful reminder to students and adults alike on how we are called to live as followers of Christ.
On Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM we have our D12 class, named as such for discipleship and the 12 that followed Jesus intently. This service focuses more on expository teaching through scripture as we break down each book of the Bible and reflect on the characters, context, and chronology. Currently, we are in a series focusing on Elijah - last Sunday we focused on his beginnings in 1 Kings 17 and how God led him to the Kerith Ravine, preparing him inwardly before He could use him in public. We also have small groups and worship during these services, with a big intention on discipleship and in-depth study.
I am so excited about the future of our youth. We have fantastic leaders who are all background checked and called to serve as student mentors.
If I can answer any question or concern or if you’d just like to know more, please don’t hesitate to email me with your contact information! As always you are welcome to attend our service with your student to get a better understanding of the ministry and the vision behind it.
